Let’s Play Records!

Presents Sleaford City Limits: Volume 1

This summer, Cornwall based artist, Bruce Davies, brings Let’s Play Records! (LPR) to the Hub National Centre for Craft & Design, Sleaford.

LPR is a unique project that celebrates vinyl records – from sound and design, to people’s collecting habits.

The exhibition will show many album covers throughout the ages, from the widely known to the underground. Record covers charting album art work from the 1930s through to the present day will also be available to see.

Curated by Patrick Murphy in association with The Civic, Barnsley, the display will encourage visitors to consider the relationship between album cover design, music and socio-political economic change.

Members of the community are invited to come along to the Hub and contribute to a record in traditional 33rpm vinyl format. Musicians, poets, writers, DJs and orators will all help create a lasting social record of the time.

The exhibition will take place at the Hub from 17 July to 5 September and has free entry.

For further information, please contact Melanie Kidd, Head of Exhibitions at the Hub, on 01529 308710 or log onto http://www.thehubcentre.info/
